These RID-JID replacement Ironing Board Covers & Underlay Pads are custom-made for the RID-JID steel Mesh Ironing Boards with Retractable wings (sold by Sears & J.R.Clark) For over 15 years we have been making custom covers for folks who could not find quality replacement covers and have accumulated a LONG list of satisfied customers and patterns. Our ironing board covers are proudly made in the USA, sewn locally in Berks County PA. Your cover is expertly crafted from either Therma-Flec, a SILVER metallic, aluminum coated cotton that is both scorch resistant and heat reflective; premium 100% cotton twill; or 100% cotton, fun, designer prints. Two sets of ties at the retractable end of this board allows a tight fit when the wings are in the closed position.

RID-JID MODELS w/ WINGS: This history of this board has been a bit difficult to track down. Rid-Jid Corp was one of the earliest manufacturers of ironing boards, first with collapsible, wooden ironing boards and later with this metal-mesh board with wings that slide in and out from under the front nose, making the nose squared-off. Rid-Jid also designed the legs so that the person ironing could sit comfortably with their legs under the board. We have learned, from customers, that Sears models 5604 and 5631 plus a model sold by JR Clark are all the same board. The board measures 53Lx14W inches. Our custom cover & pad includes covering the sliding wings.
OTHER RID-JID MODELS This cover is only for the RID-JID Model w/ wings as described above. We will happily make covers for other RID-JID boards, but these are not listed because we do not have any patterns. Message us if you have a different RID-JID board.
PREMIUM PAD: We opted to keep the super dense 6mm needle-punched polyester pad separate from the cover. This makes it more economical, in the future, to replace your cover and keep the pad. You can clean the cover without the bulk of the pad (which can also be cleaned). And it is mildew, moisture and scorch resistant. Needle-punched felt is very different from flat felt. The felt fibers are vertical and interlocking so your the pad is more resilient and will stand-up to constant pressing. It is thick, will lay flat and not bunch up. The pad is cut to the exact size and shape as your board and the cover is designed to wrap around it and hold both your pad and cover snugly in place.
PREMIER COTTON COVERS: All of our covers are crafted of sturdy 7-8oz cotton/cotton twill fabric, much thicker and longer-lasting than quilting cotton. Most of the fabrics and all of the premium pads are manufactured/printed in the USA.
CARE: To prolong the size and fit of your cover and pad, please spot clean only. Your cover is designed to tightly fit your board and even hand-washing can shrink or misshape it.
