Custom
Custom means that we craft the cover to fit your exact ironing board. If you do not know the make and model of your board (or it is a custom made board) or you do know it but we do not have the pattern in our files, then we will need a tracing of the top of it. We use that as a pattern to customize your cover. To trace your ironing board you will need to turn your BARE board upside down onto kraft paper; the back of gift wrapping paper; or any other paper that is longer and wider than the top of your board. (Do NOT use Newspaper). If you cannot turn your board upside down, because it is built-in or fastened to something, then lay the tracing paper on top of the BARE board and carefully trace the boards outline. You may want to use double-faced tape or some other means to keep the paper from sliding around while you are doing the tracing.

We also need pictures or your board if your old cover was fastened to your board in a unique way, other than tucking under the edge of your entire board (including the back); your board folds in half or is hinged in some way; the old cover is laced underneath; or any other unique features of the cover and/or board that will have to be considered when making your new cover. The more info you provide the better your cover will fit.
Separate Pad
Our premium, needle-punched, polyester felt pad will add superior cushioning to your ironing board. However, since many folks already have a pad, we offer our replacement pad as an option. Having the pad separate also allows for the cover to be washed without damage to the pad. Plus the cover fits like a glove, because it does not have the bulk of the pad sewn into it. Most of our customers prefer having the underlay pad separate; so it is win-win for everyone!
Deciding Which Fabric is Right for Your Ironing Style
There is no right or wrong cover. If you are happy with the fabric on the cover you already have (or had) then stick with that. We offer a variety of fabrics so that you can replace your cover with the type that most closely meets your needs. The metalized fabrics, much like Teflon, are more slippery and are designed to reflect heat back into the underside of your garment. Therefore this type of cover can get very hot. Some folks prefer this because they feel they can iron more quickly with the reflective type fabric. The brushed twill and designer prints fabrics are more of a matte finish so your garment normally stays in place as you iron. The top of the cover does not get quite as hot as the metalized, because there are no reflective metal particles in it. Quilters and sewers like the twill, because their pieces stay put when ironing. Get one of each and you will be sure to be happy! ; )
